Time Has Slipped By So Quickly!!

First, a new blog name for me.  Deb's Rustic Quilting!!  I felt a change was needed as my life has changed so much this year and I'm loving it!!

A picture from our lake craft show the beginning of August.
That's me in the middle with my little Macy Kate, and my friend Ann is behind the checkout counter.  We had fun and it was really hot out.  Ann did quite well this year, I not so much.  I've come to the conclusion that you have to have useful items to sell.  That is what people want.  Believe it or not I made some of those old stringy loom type potholders and sold a few of those!  Useful!!  I didn't want to believe that at first, but Bernie always tells me that people want useful things.  So yesterday at my quilting group (that's a whole other blog post for another day), one of the other quilters said that she used to do craft shows a while ago, but "unless you are selling something useful, it's all for not".  So, there it was again, more words of wisdom.

So, I've decided to plunge myself into useful items and I'm sticking with fabric, wool, rope, type projects, rustic, primitive, country,  and of course, I've persuaded Bernie to begin his lamp making once again.  He makes the most beautiful rustic/beach type lamps, and yes, they are a useful item and I always sell them!  Here is a picture of one.   So that is what we will be doing during the winter months ahead.

So, I now have much to say and to write about.  I've written down ideas for my blog posts which will be every Thursday and you'll see why in future posts.  There will be giveaways too!!  As I have craft items that I'll be giving away monthly.

The plans for the Etsy store are in the works, I just need to post some pictures and get that going.

GIVEAWAY!!!!!!

"A path emerges when we walk on it."  My life's motto according to Facebook!  So, I ask you to follow me here and you won't be disappointed.  Tell your friends about my new blogspot and I will begin with a giveaway for the month of September.

I'll start out with a rustic/primitive looking chalkboard since it's back to school time and also a sachet!  Leave me a comment here for one entry.  For a second entry, tell me who the person was that told you about my blog or if you have been following, just comment that!  That's it!  Let's see how many followers I can add in one week!

See you next Thursday!!

Hugs!
Debbie

  2. Hey it came up today. Maybe I was just having computer issues yesterday. I like the new name. I hope your plunge into useful items is a productive one. I've not been in the mood to craft one bit since the show. Now that my craft room is all clean and organized I must not want to mess it up again :)

    1. Welcome Hootin Anni!! Ann has been gracious enough to post on her blog so I get some followers without my knowing. She is a great person! I love doing craft shows with her and we just go to fairs and buddy around at different events around this neck of the woods! I'm hoping you enjoy your journey with me. I'll check out your blog too! So many people that I used to follow are no longer blogging. I prefer it over the instagram, twitter, etc. types of social media. Follow me down my path!!
