Feelin Like a Fall Friday

Happy Friday to All!!  It is truly beginning to feel like fall here in the Northwest corner of Pennsylvania.  The leaves are beginning to turn on certain trees and some have even hit the ground already.  I hope many don't come down, I love taking a drive to see the fall foliage every year.  I got my fall decoration out of storage, and will be hopefully getting some decorating done for the season, my favorite season, FALL.

So, since I've been working on a few projects for several years now, yes! I said years, I figured I need to stick to two things and get them finished.  I have to switch between them so boredom doesn't set in.  Here is what I've been working on.  First...................

This wallhanging or perhaps a tablerunner,  I began it last year during the fall season and just got the panel put together with the backing and got it bound.  So this year, I'm going to get the little details I wanted to do on it.  I am embroidering different sections of the panel.  I have sewn the Boo sign, the ghost, hay, with different color thread.

Here is a better picture of the witch that I sewed her dress, hat, etc.  And down below the little carriage with some green outlining.  This project is one that I'm working on while I watch TV.  I like those kinds of projects.  Last weekend I watched football and sewed.  Yes, I love football, NASCAR too!!

And lastly, what I have been working on in my sewing area for quite a while, this is gonna take me forever at my slow speed.  This is the Civil War reproduction fabric that I am cutting into rectangles and squares.  Just the cutting alone takes a long time and I'm not done with that yet.  Then I have to sew the two together as you see here, next I have to sew each of these together several times to make a strip.  Then I have to sew all the strips together, until I have a size big enough to cover a queen-size bed.  I'll be working on this one throughout the winter, I'm sure.

I have other projects ready to go in the wings, such as two very cute patterns of folk-art applique and of course sewing.  One for fall, and one for winter.  These are something that I could do anywhere.  Once I finish one of the above projects, I can begin one of these new ones.  If you want to take a peek of what it might be, go visit this store, one of my favorites, The Raspberry Rabbits.  Michelle has some wonderful felt wool kits and thread kits too.  Check it out, and did I mention her adorable studio bunnies, Hannah and Harrington!

So, happy sewing, happy quilting, happy weekend to all!!

  2. Your Halloween wall hanging is looking great. Good idea switching back and forth between two projects. I get bored easy if I work on one thing for too long. Enjoy your weekend

    1. Yes, I find it more fun to have two things going on at once. Once I have it done, I'll begin the folk art wool felt project. You have a good weekend too!

  3. Cute, Cute Halloween panel you found. And nicely quilted too! I really love your strip fabrics. That is a really nice border affect that you will have on your CW quilt. It really is a LOT of work - but it will be totally worth it.

  4. Thanks, Linda, for your comment. I, too, love the Halloween panel. I'm still working on it finding places to quilt and accent here and there. Can't wait to get it all done. Hope to work a little on the CW quilt this weekend.
