Friday Decor Post

Good Friday Morning!  I hope you are anticipating a wonderful weekend!  I got some quilting done on my queen-size quilt I'm working on.  I was putting several of my little squares 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" to a little larger 2-1/2" x 4-1/2", tedious job, but anyway my sewing machine decided to go on the fritz!!  I'm not sure what happened.  The stitching is coming out badly.  I tried adjusting both the upper and lower tensions, but it doesn't seem to matter.  I'll have to have hubby take a look at it for me, he can fix anything.

So I needed to move on to something else, not feeling very crafty, I decided on a bathroom design decor change.  One bathroom was done in a tropical fern-type theme, so I've decided to change it to a more primitive decor.  I'm going with blacks and tans, with perhaps a star, crow type theme.  I began my search for a shower curtain, and when I saw this one, I knew it had to be it.  I can't do anything too dark or I would have just gone with a black and tan small checked pattern that I loved, but with no window, it would have been too dark, so I've opted for this one.

The picture doesn't show the black very well, but you get the idea.

Then I found these really nice pictures of Fall and Winter in black frames.  They both have crows in them.  One says Harvest, (I guess that is the new word for Fall).  I just fell in love with these.

So the search goes on for towels perhaps in the black and tan theme, a new bathmat, and then I am going to make a really cool soap dispenser.  Then the transformation is done, I believe, unless I come up with some really neat ideas for a toilet tank topper, perhaps a distressed black wood holder of sorts for kleenex, etc.  The mind continues to churn!!

Thanks for visiting and stop back again next Friday!  Have a fantastic weekend!

  2. Thank you for stopping by Prudence and Joyce. I'm doing my best to be creative. They also have a spring and summer picture too, but since it is fall and winter, I thought I'd start out with those two. They are so primitive and lovely. Hope you have a Happy Weekend too!

  3. oh no not the sewing machine. Hope Bernie can get it fixed for you.
I like that shower curtain and the pictures are great. I've been wanting to change things up in my house but haven't really come up with what I want to do yet

    1. Hopefully he will have a chance to look at it this weekend. I just get these bright ideas, and go with it. If I ponder too long, nothing will happen. Fall is my favorite season, and I love decorating and changing things up then for the long, long, cold winter ahead. Go ahead, Ann, you can deny that it's coming, but we know the white stuff will be plentiful this year, but also beautiful. Have a good weekend.

    1. When I saw the pics, I had to at least get the two of them. They also have summer and spring, but since we're past that, I figured I go with those two and they are my favorites anyway. Hope you enjoyed your blackberry cobbler. So easy, so good!! You'll have to let me know how it turned out for you and what you had it with. Thanks for visiting, Sue.
