Happy Friday!! Well, I have a perfectly good excuse for not doing anything in my decorating the bathroom, nor working on any craft, quilt type projects this week.
Here is the reason...................... I'd like to introduce you all to Macy Kate Meyer
Her name Macy was chosen because we lost Dixie in May and the Cy part because it sounded like the last syllable of Dixie. Kate because I like to follow William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Macy is a full-blooded Yorkshire Terrier of England. So that is how I came up with it and I didn't name her until the day we picked her up. Everyone kept asking, but I wasn't telling.
Macy is a distant relative of Dixie's and is in the same bloodline as Dixie. It is so funny the antics of this little 10-week old are similar to those of Dixie too! Gosh, we just are loving her to death. She's keeping us real busy with the potty training, and we've had some really warm days that have helped in that department. Of course, the weather is about to change here due to a cold front approaching from the north and Hurricane Sandy coming up the coast and they are saying we will plummet in temps and have the "s" word.......s n o w in the forcast! Macy is much too little to be in harsh conditions like that so I guess the crate training will have to begin.
She weighs in at a whopping 1.4 pounds. I don't expect her to be more than 4 or 5 pounds full grown.
She's a delight! Well off to work now. Everyone have a good weekend. Wish it was my last day of work, but unfortunately at my new job post I already have a clerk off due to surgery, so I have to fill in on Saturdays for at least a month or more. Take care and Happy Halloween!!
I love rustic decorating and quilting. I also like to cross-stitch, decorate our home, and make stone lamps with Bernie, my husband. Hearthwood Lamps is our business. I love our Yorkie, Macy Kate. "A path emerges when we walk on it." Please follow me down my path and we will walk together!

WELCOME Little Macy, what an angel you are.
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie, I am so happy for you, I am writing with tears (happiness)in my eyes. Congratulations on your new baby, she is precious.
I thought about you this morning when I heard the weather. Snow isn't so bad as long as the 3 of you are safe indoors. Damaging winds and flooding do worry me. Please be safe.
Hugs
She is such a joy, and a lot of work right now, but so worth it. She learned how to bark last evening. Don't know if that is good or bad. Can't believe how much she has learned in less than a week. We've been watching the storm and just don't know what will be in store for us, probably high winds and a lot of rain, of course, this morning we see we can be getting snow too! We'll be ready, we always are.
DeleteOh how sweet she is!! Welcome to little Macy Kate Meyer! I hope your weekend is wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Denise, With my new job unfortunately I had to work on my regular Saturday off, so I actually have a one-day weekend, but I am going to enjoy it to the fullest. I have a clerk who had surgery last week and no other help available, so I work now on Saturdays until she can come back. Enjoy your Sunday! Be safe!!
DeleteI'm so happy for you. Kisses for Macy!
ReplyDeleteMacy sends yorkie kisses back to you! She's a good kisser. :) Bad part is she is teething and likes to bite. I'm training her if she bites, she gets put back into her crate. She doesn't like that much, so I'm hoping to have her broken of that habit real fast. Have a wonderful Sunday!
DeleteMacy is adorable. I love how you chose her name. Don't work too hard tomorrow
ReplyDeleteMacy is sitting on my lap right now. She loves to watch me type. Her nose is on the keypad and she's kissing my fingers. She is a doll, so smart already too. I'm so happy for my Sunday off, I have so much to get done and so little time, so I won't be computering much. Looks like we are in for a good storm, doesn't i!! Take care and be safe.
DeleteOh my, Debbie...Macy Kate is a joy to behold! I can tell that you already love her to the moon and back.
ReplyDeleteHow fortunate we are to have our fur babies to share our lives with.
Stay safe and here's hoping that the storm misses you.
Thanks for stopping by, Kaaren. Yes, Macy is the love of our lives. After losing our Dixiegirl back in May, she is just a sweetheart. She loves to sit on my lap as I type and is sitting here right now with me. She's giving me "yorkie kisses" all over my fingers as I type. We are still having rains and the wind has died down a bit from last night, thank goodness. I could hardly sleep. TNT
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I wouldn't be able to get a thing done either with a cutie pie like that running around the house!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Corina. She is a sweet little girl and such a sweetheart. Got to go play with her some more now.
