Shakerwoods in Columbiana OH

What day is it???  What day is it???  It's hump day!!!  Don't you just love that Geico commercial on TV here in the US.  It makes me laugh every time I see it.

I had a fun week off last week.  Enjoyed it very much!!!  Got all my housecleaning done.  Even stained the baseboards again, I didn't realize how hard that is for an old body to do.  I felt it for two days after finishing it up.  So all in all, I had a very productive week off.

Over the weekend, a friend, Ann, and I went to Shakerwoods in Columbiana OH.  If you've never been or heard about Shakerwoods, it's this festival of crafts and it is literally in the Woods.  Amongst the trees are these craft booth houses, like those barn sheds they sell, and each one has a different crafter in them.  All sorts of crafts from woodworking, to primitives, yarn, pinecone everythings, garlands to wreaths, wood birdhouses you can reseed after the birdies that live in side the house eat their houses!!  Leather belts, hats, oh my goodness the list could go on and on.  Food booths, who has every heard of a pulled pork parfait!!  Yes, it was pulled pork with BBQ sauce layered with mashed potatoes in a parfait cup with spoon!  Did I say yummy!!  Very filling.  There was also those booths where you could have some clam chowder soup to taste brewing over an open fire, also lots of dips and sauces you could try.  No Double Dipping Please!!!  Anyway, it was an enjoyable 8 hours for us.
This picture was from 2012 - forgot the camera this year!!

Shakerwoods is also going on this coming weekend also; however, the rain could be an issue, but if you are in the area and would like something fun and different to do, head on over there.
No, I have not been paid by Shakerwoods to tell you how much fun we had!!!!  Just kidding!!

Anyway, have a great Hump Day and hopefully I'll be back here this week again to show you what I've been up to craft wise!!!

Macy says HEY!!!!

  1. I got home and didn't move off the couch for the rest of the I thought I took a picture of our parfait lunch but it wasn't on my phone

  2. I don't think you did, Ann. I forgot to add the cherry tomato on the top. Darn. Your picture of the tree carving turned out really well for being your phone camera.

  3. I've heard of Shakerwoods - would love, love, love to go some day. blessings, marlene

    1. It is a wonderful place,we go every year and it is a fun day for us. There is so much to look at that they give you a map of all the vendor booths and everyone walks around checking off each booth as they visit them. I always mark those that I want to make sure that I visit. So much fun, you need to make it there someday.
