And the winner is................... and some other quilting stuff and goings on............

Happy Thursday everyone, can you believe that Thanksgiving is only two weeks from today, I can't!!!  Time is flying by for sure.  So what's been going on this week for me thus far.............

Yesterday was Senior Center Quilting Day and yes!!!!  my Director got my fabric to continue on the Trip Around the World.  I was able to put the framing border onto the border fabric and got it pinned and ready to sew next week, then it will go to my quilting friend, Joannie's house for her to do her long-arm magic on the piece.  I like to do my own quilting, but since this will be a for sale item for the center, she does all the actually quilting for them.  Easy for me, because once it is back to me all quilted, I just have to put on the binding and then it will be for sale.  I didn't take pictures yesterday because you really couldn't see anything, but will take a few pictures next week.  Had a delicious lunch yesterday, Rotisserie style chicken breast, red bliss potatoes, green garden salad with Italian dressing, whole wheat roll and butter, and rocky road pudding for dessert with milk and coffee.  All for $2!!!

This week I also completed my final table topper for the Quilt-a-long I was participating in on the internet through From My Carolina Home blog and Carole.  It was lots of fun even though I didn't win a thing.  Just like me........................I never win anything, oh wait, Bernie bought me a lottery ticket on Monday and I won $50!!  WooHoo!!!  So here is my finished topper.

It is a pretty good size topper at 35" square.  It will go on my dining table once I get this out of the way...........................

I'm working on a button puzzle.  This one is tough!  There are 650 pieces and they are very small and they don't go together and stay together very well.  I have a question, how many of you lay out all your puzzle pieces by color and direction of the pieces.  (I'm guessing Bryan does this???)  I am obsessed with doing it this way.  So once I'm finished with this, or get totally annoyed by it not staying together while working on it and ripping it down, I will put my topper on , I'm thinking diagonally might work best,  and the runner that you see in these pictures will be moved to my coffee table in my living room.

What else is new????  still walking most days when it is not raining.  I have housework planned for today, running up and down the stairs, etc., so my steps will be all indoors today.

I'm thankful that the election is over and I don't have to watch all those awful commercials any longer and have hopes for a country that will be united sooner than later.

And now the giveaway winner, chosen by random generator,

and the winner is.........................Joy from Days Filled with Joy.  Joy is from Victoria, Australia and I'm sure she'll love getting these fabric quarters from the States.  Congratulations, Joy.  Please email me your mailing address so I can send these off to you.

If you notice, on my blog upper right hand corner, I put a gadget where you can put your email in and every time that I post to my Deb's Rustic Quilting, Designs by Debbie and Dixie Too blog you will get an email of the post.  I hope this makes it easier for everyone to follow along.

That's it for this week.............I'll be back next Thursday with more from my neck of the woods!

Hugs,
Debbie

  3. Your table topper is beautiful! We sort our puzzle pieces by color too, but not usually by direction. Our puzzles usually have crazy shaped pieces though.
