Happy Friday everyone!!  Update on my long work days..........they are still going on at least through tomorrow and then possible Monday will be the end after all the paperwork is completed and I can breath a sigh of relief.  It really hasn't been a bad two weeks except for the long hours, didn't get one stitch into anything, oh wait, one night I did manage to sew like ten blocks on my Civil War quilt I've been working on.  At this pace, it may take me two years to get this done.  :)

Fall has definitely arrived in NW Pennsylvania.  The leaves are changing colors, the nights are cool, if not down right cold, the mornings are crisp, and the birds have stopped chirping in the mornings too!  The squirrels are scurrying about gathering their acorns, if I didn't beat them to them :), Animals are obviously hiding their acorns in my planters on my front porch where I just recently planted my fall mums because last night I went out to water and the dirt was all over the porch.  I do believe the chipmunks are the culprits of these shenanigans!

Blackie has been running around, oh, you don't know who Blackie is, let me show you.....

He is our resident Black Squirrel, a rare thing to see in these parts.  He has been around for quite a while.  Here he is under the bird feeder, one of his favorite places.  He's busy gathering his winter bounty as well.

I'll leave you here as my job is calling me yet again!  Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Hi Debbie,

My husband was on a business trip in Michigan and saw a black squirrel, he said they are quite beautiful. Oh, and who doesn't just love chipmunks?

    Have a wonderful weekend.

    Hugs

    1. We were just out on the deck tonight and there was Blackie again. He has been gathering acorns like crazy. He takes them somewhere and then comes back for more. We have lots of large oak trees beyond our yard and he is back there. Chipmunks are all over the place, they too are gathering, I hope this is not an indication of a bad winter coming.

  2. Hope those long days are over soon. It has been gettng pretty cold at night. I don't mind it so much when I'm ready to settle in for the night but I'm not too crazy about it in the morning when I'm heading out to work

    1. I have one more long day, Monday. The day to do all the paperwork totals for the past two weeks. Ugh!! Can't wait to have that done. It is chilly, I took a walk down the street tonight, only made one lap, too cool for me, the sun had already gone away. Have a good weekend, Ann.
