More quilting this week, I'm on a roll!!

Hello everyone,  this week was a busy one for me again.  Not only am I walking to get healthy each day, but I try to quilt a little too!!  Gosh, never thought I'd run out of time in a day when retired, but I honestly do!!

So, I completed the flying geese runner, turned it in to the senior center for for them to put on sale, and it says $20!  I hope they get it!  A lot of work went into that runner!

This was it before it was completely finished.

I also completed a table runner for my nephew's anniversary.
He and his wife are going to love this one, I think!

I'm also working on two variations of the above.  Same material in all three of them.  One will be for my neighbor who gave me access to her garden this year.  She kept me in tomatoes and green peppers all summer long.  Most appreciative to her and her hubby.  The other, I'm not sure who the recipient will be........................Which one of the two below do you like better?  Top one or bottom one?

At the center I am still working on the the Trip Around the World.  I really like what I'm seeing on this one.  I've never done anything like this before.  The fabrics were chosen by the center, not colors I would make for myself.  I'm not into pinks or bright colors, I like the primitive, rustic type fabrics, but I do think this is pretty.  I still need to square it off and sew the two pieces, top and bottom, together, then I'll see what else I have to do.  I'm guessing some sashing and of course the backing.  A lady at the center who has a long-arm machine will do her magic on it.  When quilts are for the center, she quilts them.  I, myself, like to complete all projects and won't take anything I make to a long-arm person, just would rather work it from start to finish!

So tell me, do you take your quilts to a long-arm person?  Or would you prefer to do it yourself?

Also, do you hand-stitch the back of binding, or do you machine bind it all?

Thanks for stopping by today, have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Hugs,
Debbie

  1. Your table runners look great. Of those two different layouts I like the top one the best.
You're doing good with your quilting. I haven't done anything since the craft show.
